RE: Electric to Disc brake conversion

Like Bearing Buddies, and surge brakes, the disk brake conversions and new installations were meant for the boating folks. There's a limited market so they try and convince RV'ers that disc are worth the expense of retrofitting. Like Fred mentioned there may be some value for a heavy trailer, but the more than a thousand dollar investment won't add much otherwise unless you use your trailer for launching boats. How do you come up with the idea that disk brakes are for boat trailers?

RE: norcold refrigerator door

I have had success in the past adjusting a refer door by adding a washer to the bottom of the hinge pin. Raises the door just enough.

RE: Leaf Blower to Clean Out Splendide Lint

Thats a really great idea!! When I first installed my washer/drier I had the same problem with lint I think because I used the real cheap aluminum foil duct work. I have since replaced it with the hard flexable aluminum type and have had no more problems with lint dams.

RE: Modifications for Tow Vehicle - 5th wheel pulling

I think an important thing to know is once you use a chip/programer the factory checks/controls that keep EGTs and boost within the safe zone are gone, so you will have to do it yourself. This means you have to have gauges. EGT,Boost and TRANNY TEMP are the most popular.

RE: Rubber roof porous?

Unless you roof is old and cracked, there should be no way for water to get through. Has to be where something goes through the membrane(vent or edge of membrane), or a window or running light.

RE: Need a good repair shop in Maryland -- Awning Damaged

Not that it helps you much, but a bent roller as you described, is not repairable. Plan on a new one. In which case once you are done with the insurance guru you can throw the whole awning away and happily continue your trip.

RE: slide-out

Try to find out why the slide is not going out further. It should go out until the rubber meets the wall all the way round. Then it will seal.

RE: 2nd AC question, yes i did a search

Remember whatever you put on the roof is some 13 feet in the air. The higher it is the closer it is to low tree limbs and low flying aircraft. :)

RE: Charge Controller?

If the ground clip was from the test equipment I dont see how having it come loose could affect your alternator.
